The West Bengal Motor Vehicles Technical Officers' Association, having its registered office at 38, Naresh Mitra Sarani, Kolkata : 20 was formed in the year of 1970 and was registered on 03.05.1974 by the Registrar of Firms, Societies and Non- Trading corporations ,WB vide registration no. S/14453 of 74-75 under the provisions of the West Bengal Societies Act, 1961. Formerly the Association was known as All Bengal Motor Vehicles Inspectors' Association situated at 68, Sarat Bose Road, Kolkata : 25. Its present title along with some necessary alterations were accepted by the Registrar on 01.07.1999.

The main role played at the formation of the Association was Shri Barun Bakshi and Shri Pronab Chandra Halder. They tried a lot for the preparation of the Constitution, revision of the Pay-Scale, separation of the duties of the Technical Inspectors etc.

Our Main Aim & Objective


The main aim and objective of the Association is to promote spirit of goodwill and brotherhood amongst all members and to hold re-union amongst themselves to discuss common problems, to share joy & sorrow of life.

Apart from that the Association is organising training programmes to train the drivers. To develop the latest technology and to increase the efficiency of the members the Association is organising many workshop & seminars with Automobile manufacturers.

The Association also takes up issues with utmost importance relating to amendment of Motor Vehicles Act & Rules where the amendment proposed are not in the interest of public or against passengers' safety. To update the members regarding Govt. Orders the Association circulates important orders, verdicts of High Courts, & the Supreme Court on Motor Vehicles Acts & Rules. They always keep a close contact with the All India Federation of Motor Vehicles Department Technical Executive Officers Association to fight against privatisation of different sectors of motor vehicles.
